Severe purulent conjunctivitis- to
indetify the pathogens sensitivity pattern.
·
Follicular conjunctivitis- to
differentiate viral from chlamydial infection.

Chronic or recurrent conjunctivitis- to
find out aetiological diagnosis.
·
Opthalmia neonatorum.
